The purpose of the project was to show the relationship between science and ceramics. I worked with the resident artist (potter) from the museum to create lessons about a range of topics, from the physics involved in throwing clay to the chemistry of glazes. The resident potter let me try throwing on the wheel and I was hooked.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\"\u003eI took lesson through a studio in Charlotte, NC and spent a week at the John C. Campbell Folk Art School in Brasstown, NC improving my slab building skills.
