Collection: Susan Ringer

I am an artist from Pennsylvania drawn to several art forms related to the sea and nature - those include painting and pottery in addition to creating jewelry.

I started collecting seaglass many years ago when I found my first piece on a New Jersey beach. I hadn't really known about it before then. My fascination with the history of where this frosty glass came from prompted me to learn more about it and where to find it. I have found my favorite spots to collect it in California, Florida, Lakes Ontario and Michigan, Coastal New England and the Carribbean. Some of my glass even comes from other parts of the world such as the Black Sea and Coastal UK. 

Each piece is a unique little "gem", and made into jewelry, it allows the wearer to enjoy a little piece of history that is also quite beautiful. The mystery of the origin of the glass when first discarded into the sea (possibly over a hundred years ago in some cases) adds to its allure.
